Arien Swarm (PC) (FREE)

A short game that valve released a few years ago. The community around the game disappeared faster than Titanic sank. Although it included a wonderful Tile-Gen for making maps, and a wonderful setting, the game just didn’t appeal to the masses. It’s great with 3 friends, and although it comes with only one default campaign, you can always find some good maps on the net. Unlike other Source games before it, Alien Swarm is a 3rd person top down perspective view. Overall the game can be very fun, but the lack of Valve and community support has really taken a toll on this game. It really could have been great.

Game Play: 8/10 - Offers a challenge at time, you really must use team work to survive.

Controls: 7/10 - I found them to be frustrating at times, but that’s just me.

Visuals: 8/10 - Wonderful models and textures, game just looks great.

Audio: 8/10 - Good sounds for guns and creatures, alright soundtrack, allows you to import your own .mp3 files to use as ‘Battle Music’.

Fun: 7/10 - While fantastic at first, after your third play through you get bored, and ultimately will just uninstall the game.
